Glady Walker Whiteside, Age 80, went to be with the Lord on August 15th, 2017 at Emory Johns Creek Hospital in Atlanta, Ga where her daughter, Pamela Banan, resided. She owned and operated the 'Super Chef' and 'Family Restaurant' in Forest City, NC for 40 plus years. Preceded in death by her husband, James Whiteside, who was the father of their two wonderful children, Gerald Whiteside and Pamela Banan who meant the world to her. She also leaves behind her two very special brothers, David Walker from Chesnee, SC and Calvin Walker, from Union, SC and her one and only granddaughter who she adored, Ashley Banan. Her passion for life and sense of humor never left her side. She loved sharing stories from her childhood and always had everyone laughing when friends and family gathered, not to mention she was a great southern cook. Glady was always considered a second 'mother' to all of her nieces and nephews whom she cherished so dearly. The most remarkable and extraordinary woman we will truly miss, the family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, August 18th, at Egger's Funeral Home in Chesnee, SC from 6-9pm. Services to celebrate her life are set for Saturday, August 19th at 2pm at Gateway to Life Baptist Tabernacle in Chesnee, SC. The burial service will follow at Green Creek Baptist Church in Green Creek, NC. With a great woman's passing, the family wishes to thank all the wonderful people that loved and touched her life in so many ways. A million words cannot describe and honor her life, but all the memories we have of her will.
