Hazel Goudelock Obituary

GAFFNEY, SC-- Hazel Poole Goudelock, 85, formerly of 116 Gowdeysville Road, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 19, 2006, after several years of declining health.A native of Gaffney, she was the daughter of the late Shuford Miles and Gertrude McCraw Poole, and was the widow of Walter Bookter Goudelock. Mrs. Goudelock was a homemaker and former supervisor at Oxford Industries in Gaffney. She was a member of El Bethel Baptist Church.Surviving are three sisters, Delia Poole White and Mary Ann Poole Clary of Gaffney, and Jacqueline Poole Herlong of Greenville, SC; three brothers, Charles E. Poole of Montgomery, Texas, and John T. Poole and Jimmy S. Poole of Spartanburg, SC; five sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, and a large number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Miles Poole and Dr. Edgar M. Poole, Sr.At the time of her death, Mrs. Goudelock resided at Peachtree Centre in Gaffney. The family expresses gratitude to the administrative staff and to her nurses and caregivers. The family also expresses special thanks to Hospice Care of South Carolina.The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at Blakely Funeral Home, 1047 Chesnee Highway, Gaffney. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Dr. Terry Duvall and Rev. Danny Phillips. Interment will be in El Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.Memorials may be made to El Bethel Baptist Church, Billy Goat Bridge Road, Gaffney, SC, 29340.The family members will be at their respective homes.Blakely Funeral Home- Gaffney, SCPaid Funeral Notice
