Henry Lamb Obituary
COWPENS, SC-- Mr. Henry Thurn (Bud) Lamb, 89, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Friday, August 25, 2017. He was the husband of Geraldine Scruggs Lamb of the residence and the son of the late James Belton Lamb and Clara Westbrooks Lamb. Mr. Lamb was a member of New Pleasant Baptist Church for 50 years where he served as a former deacon, RA Leader, and a choir member. He presently was a member of Ronnie Parris Sunday School Class and served on the cemetery committee. He was a life time member of the Masonic Lodge 294 of Chesnee. He was retired from Reeves Brothers.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters, Martha Lamb White (Jim) of Gaffney, Elaine Lamb Scruggs (Joe) of Chesnee and by four grandchildren: Joey & Jennifer Scruggs, Melanie & Michael Sparks; Melissa & Terry Satterwhite; Matt & Dawn Scruggs and by eight great-grandchildren; Tyler; Josh; Jake; Caleb; Meredith, Abby; Jenna and Will. He was predeceased by three brothers Binus, Garland, and Herbert Lamb and one sister Geraldine Wilson. He was the last surviving member of his family.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M., Monday, August 28, 2017 at New Pleasant Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Bryan Yelton and Rev. Glenn Rusher. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Memorial s may be made to Spartanburg Hospice House, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303 or to New Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 237 New Pleasant Road, Gaffney, SC 29340.

My childhood memories are filled with my Uncle Bud. I'll always remember his humor and that little chuckle that followed after one of his many tales. Such a wonderful God filled and loving man. He will be greatly missed by many. Love to all my family and prayers as his void is felt.

What a blessing and joy to have know Bud. His friends and family will never forget his wisdom, honesty, integrity, and strong belief in God. His love for his family, friends, community, and church served as an inspiration to many. His quick smile and wit served him well and he often reminded others of how things should be. His legacy will live on in all who knew him. As much as he will be missed, how comforting it is to know that he is singing in heaven's choir after hearing God's welcome of "Well done, my good and faithful servant." ...love and prayers to the family.
