J.C. Mitchem

WELLFORD, SC-- J.C. Mitchem, 81, widower of Alice Faye Sawyer Mitchem, died Monday, June 21, 2010. A native of Spartanburg County, he was a son of the late John R. and Elizabeth Duncan Mitchem, and a U.S. Marines veteran of the Korean War.
Surviving are a daughter, Susan Henderson of Lyman; three sons, Barry and Craig Mitchem, both of Wellford and Chris Mitchem of Greenville; two brothers, Johnny Mitchem of Moore and Ray Mitchem of Georgetown, SC; one sister, Lorene Parker of Reidville; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, June 24, 2010, at the Wood Mortuary. Burial will follow in Fort Prince Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held 10:00 until 11:00 AM Thursday, June 24, 2010, at the mortuary.
The family is at their respective homes.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615.

Craig,Barry,Susan,Chris and family im so sorry to hear about JC weve been neighbors for over 20 years and he will be missed but to help ease your grief you can rest assured he will always be in your hearts and memories each time you look at his grandchildren to see how that in each of their own ways they share a part of him that will forever be there to remind you of him. God Bless and take care of each other !

Im sorry to hear about JC.We work together at Startex Mill. JC was my loomfixer on the tweleve hour shift.JC always told I made the days go by faster the way I cutup with him.JC was a good friend.
