James Hayes Obituary

ARCADIA, SC-- James David Hayes, 74, of 270 Arcadia Main Street, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, went to meet Jesus on Thursday, March 22, 2007, at his home. Born December 25, 1932, in Spartanburg County, SC, he was the son of the late Columbus Mills and Mamie Isabelle Swan Hayes. He was a retired textile supervisor with 32 years of service, a member of Una First Free Will Baptist Church, and a former deacon at Arcadia Free Will Baptist Church.Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Shirley Solesbee Hayes; a son, David Hayes and his wife Joy of Boiling Springs; two daughters, Susan Steadings and her husband Sam of Inman, and Sherry Hayes of Greer; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Charles M. Hayes, a brother, and a sister.Visitation will be 2-2:45 PM Sunday, March 25, 2007, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM at the Chapel conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Cash. Burial will be in Fort Prince Memorial Gardens.Memorials may be made to Una First Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O.
