It is hard to believe that it has been nine years since Jo Willa passed from this world. She was one of the sweetest people that I met when I arrived at Wellesley. Knowing that I was homesick for my Southern kindnesses, she always made sure that I received them from her. She is gone too soon.

When I receive a notice from
Legacy I am reminded of the person whose beautiful life ended far too soon. Jo Willa was a sweet Southern belle. Smart and savvy, she touched many lives, including mine. I continue to miss her.

She was a classy lady and a wonderful person to work around. I worked in the Private Wealth Division of Merrill Lynch and had many occasion to work with Jo. What a wonderful person and a excellent role model for women. We had some great laughs together. Rest in Peace Jo. Rosa

I just found out that your Mom passed on to be with the Lord. I am so deeply saddened and she was a very dear friend to myself, Howard and Justin. She was one of the finest ladies I ever met and an "angel" in disguise.I always missed our telephone conversations we had before she got sick and I missed her and our visits to your homestead where she so graciously opened her home to us. Justin loved your Mom and won't ever forget her coming to MA to watch him play football or be involved in his life. He had sent her a letter just recently as he always loved to keep her inform on how he was doing. Our deepest sympathies are with all of you. You had a wonderful Mom and she loved you all so much. Her footprints in this world definitely left a wonderful imprint on many people's hearts. It was an honor to know her.

My very deepest condolences for the loss of a great woman, Jo Willa Gramling Lopez. I worked with Jo Willa for many years at Merrill Lynch. And although she held a far more prestigious position than me, she was always so kind and respectful and never treated me any differently than colleagues at her own level. When she left Merrill Lynch back in 2005 she sent me the most beautiful, heartfelt email that I will forever cherish. I admired her a great deal. This world has lost a tremendous woman, but I know her name and her great work will continue on. May God Bless her beloved family and animal children who I know will all miss her so very much...

Jo Willa was a lovely addition to the Class of 1969 at Wellesley of which I too am a member. It must have been 15 years ago that I caught up with her over lunch in New York. We had a good visit and all my earlier impressions were reconfirmed. She was the best!
