Ruth Brown Thorpe
SUMTER, SC-- Ruth Brown Thorpe, 84, beloved wife of the late Merrill Richard Thorpe, died on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Spartanburg, SC, a daughter of the late Roland Brown and Noonie Harmon Brown. She was a very devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and was a member of the Alice Drive Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Renee Infinger and her husband Ron of Charlotte, NC; a son, Richard Thorpe and his wife Judy of Palm City, FL; four grandchildren, Zach Infinger and Allison Infinger, both of Charlotte, NC, and Alex Thorpe and Jenna Thorpe, both of Palm City, FL; a niece, Donna Griner; and two nephews, Dan Powell and Deryl Powell.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Mae Brown Powell; and a brother, Vernon Brown.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Talmadge Infinger and Rev. Phil Ross officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210.
The family has chosen Bullock Funeral Home for the arrangements.

Renee and Ron, didn't know your mother, Ruth, but often heard you speak of her and your dad. Very sorry about your loss of not having her here on earth healthy and happy, but she is joyous now with your father and Her Father...........I'm sorry I didn't know and just saw your information on FB.
