March 7, 2019

It is with sadness that we recently learned of Dr. Westmoreland's death. What a physician! He served our family for many years and will always be remembered for his compassion and sincerity. He made you feel as though you were his only patient for the day. He was wonderful to my parents, Milton and Madge Carpenter. When I became caregiver of my parents he was so understanding and caring. There will never be another Dr. Thomas Westmoreland. No one could ever feel his place. He loved his family so much and spoke of you often. What wonderful memories you must have. With a heart of gratitude for having known him we express our sincere sympathy. Wayne and Carolyn Childers, Gaffney, S C

We will never forget you. Thank you for being a wonderful doctor and friend to us. Our deepest condolences to your family.

March 2, 2018

To the family of Dr. Thomas Westmoreland:
It has been my pleasure to have had Dr. Westmoreland serve as my primary care physician for the past 30 years up to the date of his retirement. During the time while I was under his care I feel that he had a substantial influence in molding my personal life as well as being my primary health care physician. Dr. Westmoreland was one of the few remaining PCP's who actively listened and interactively communicated with his patients. While other PCP's have the potential to be great, there will never be "another" Dr. Westmoreland. I have privately grieved over his untimely death, however, I want to encourage his family & friends to accept God's will, and rejoice in knowing that he is fully healthy now and is eagerly awaiting for his fellow Christian's to join him in heaven. This is a central concept for all believers to allow the Holy Spirt of God to comfort you and give you His peace that far exceeds our understanding.
I am so glad that I followed my heart and specifically told him the depth of my gratitude for him being my primary health care physician and his influence in my life as a human being.

DR Westmoreland was a brilliant, caring , and kind physician to us for many years. He was also a cherished friend. As a former RN I believe you have to be "called" to be a doctor or nurse. You can't make people be sympathetic or empathetic. It's something within you. Dr Westmoreland possessed those virtues. He guided us through many health issues with great concern for our well being. You could talk to him about anything and he truly listened. Thank you to his precious family who shared him with us for so many years. Our loving thoughts and prayers are with all of you. He was a precious Christian man both inside and out. We will miss him so very much, but we were so very blessed to have known him. His passing is a great loss for the entire community. He touched so many lives. Jessie and Lynn Powell

I just read of Dr. Tom's passing and I am crying now. I am so shocked and sad. Dr. Tom was my doctor for almost my whole life and he was one of the most kind, patient persons I ever known. I just spoke to him last Sunday as he was sitting with 2 of his grandsons at Red lobster right after church. I said. Dr. Tom I'm have a new doctor since you retired but I still just love you.He smiled his wonderful reassuring smile and said "Good." I am so glad he was able to spend time with his family after he retired. He spent his life caring for others and he had the most wonderful singing voice. He will be a blessing now in heaven and he will sing with the angels for his Lord Jesus until we can all see Dr. Tom again. To his family, I am so very sorry. May Jesus hold you close and show you His comfort just as Dr. Tom healed us and loved all his patients during his wonderful life. We will all miss him so much. God bless all of you, his family. Jan Higginbotham

Dear Dianne and Family,
We are so sorry for your loss and for the world's loss. Tom was our doctor for 30 years and we were saddened when he retired but so happy for him as he was excited to get to spend more time with his beloved family. The world is a little dimmer for his loss. While he was very dedicated to his patients he was more concerned with you as a person and that great talent he shared with the world. We pray that God will surround you all in his love to help you through this tragic loss of a wonderful man who has left us way too soon.
