Elizabeth Fisher Obituary

Elizabeth "Betty" Fisher, 91, of Cottage Grove, OR passed away on December 17, 2014. She was born on July 4, 1923 in Ojibwa, WI to Wade and Wanda (Hines) Crane. After receiving a teaching degree, Betty taught in a one room school house in Wisconsin. During WWII she helped build airplanes in Chicago and became a "Rosie the Riveter". She married Robert C. Fisher on September 2, 1943 in Tucson, AZ. After moving to Cottage Grove in 1947, she spent many years as a housewife and mother. Later she worked as an administrative assistant at various businesses. She enjoyed gardening and dancing, was a member of the Emerald Valley Garden Society and the Boot Scooters. She is survived by her children Judy Razoto, Connie (Fred) Friedman, Niki Munsell, Robert Fisher, Lester (Barb) Fisher, 19 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Fisher; daughter, Faye Fisher Conrad; and two grandsons, Tony and Chris. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements in the care of Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel.
