David Houghlin Obituary
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Jewell.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Kay Brown Houghlin, his daughter, Denise (Billy) Shelburne of Taylorsville, his son, Brian (Lisa) Houghlin of Prospect, and 5 grandchildren, Tyler Shelburne, Garrett Shelburne, Sam, Brooks and Lucy Owen.
Funeral services for Mr. David H. Houghlin will be 11:00 am Thursday, July 13, 2023 at the Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home in Taylorsville. Bro. Chad Goodlett will officiate. Interment will be in Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3:00-8:00 pm and Thursday after 9:00 am until time of the funeral service. The Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

I was so sad when I first saw Mr. Houglin has passed. My children had the pleasure of riding on his bus many years ago. He was alway so kind and silly with the kids. Heaven has a very special angel now!

David was one of the best of the best! Always helping others and doing it with a smile! He has been the best landlord and friend! It still doesn't seem real and not sure I'll eever stop looking for him coming down the road! You will surely be missed! Prayers for Donna and family!
