Jeff Shelburne Obituary


Jeff Shelburne, 54, of Louisville, formerly of Taylorsville, died on Sunday, October 8, 2017, at his residence. Born in Shelbyville, he grew up in Taylorsville, where he was a member of the First Baptist Church. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps and was a senior systems engineer at ADP in Louisville. Skydiving was his favorite sporting hobby.

His survivors include his wife, Sherry Shelburne of Louisville; son, Joe Shelburne, and his daughter, Nikita Shelburne, both of Louisville; mother, Brilla Mae Hartlage of Louisville; father and other mother, A. J. and Sylvia Shelburne of Taylorsville; sisters, Denisa Ferris and her husband, Marvin, of Taylorsville, and Melissa Coble-Shelburne of Louisville; step-brother, Chris Welch of Mount Washington; and his six grandchildren, Logan Shelburne, Tim Zehnder, Jamari Shelburne, Junior Collins, Aaliyah Carter and Addiena Carter.

Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, October 12, 2017, at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Taylorsville, with Dr. Robert Sutton officiating. Interment was in the Valley Cemetery in Taylorsville. Visitation was 10 a.m., until 2:15 p.m., Thursday, October 12, 2017, at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Taylorsville, and expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the First Baptist Church of Taylorsville. Arrangements were entrusted to the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Taylorsville, and online condolences may be expressed at www.halltaylorfuneralhomes.com.
