Maxine "Macca" Roach Jarboe Eye

1949 - 2023

Maxine "Macca" Roach Jarboe Eye, 74, of Spencer County, died on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at her residence. Born in Louisville, on the March 3, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Troxel and Maxine Elliott Roach Jarboe.

Education was the pillar of her life as a lifelong learner and Teacher. As a student, she graduated from Majorie Webster Junior College with an Associates degree, and from Spalding University with a Bachelors degree, before obtaining a Masters degree from Bellarmine University. As an educator, her passion for teaching children shined brightly in her classroom at Taylorsville Elementary for many years. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens, operating her families u-pick blueberry orchard, and in her own words "But most of all I love Children".

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Vincent Charles Eye; and siblings, Ralph Troxel Jarboe and Sara Lou Jarboe Robinson.

Her family would like to give a special thank you to the Hosparus Staff, as well as her dear friend and caregiver, Tammy Goodlett for their love, compassion and care to Maxine.

Survivors include her husband of over 50 years, Robert Jerry Eye of Spencer County; children, Clayton Wayne Eye of Tampa, FL, Jeremy Scott Eye of Denver, CO, and Nicholas Kennedy Eye of Brooks; and her four grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 6, 2023, at Lawrenceburg Cemetery in Lawrenceburg. Visitation will be from 2 p.m., until 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Taylorsville.
