Alan MORASCH Obituary

Our beloved father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather peacefully passed away on February 7, 2023. Alan was born on November 14, 1939, in Colfax, Washington, to Clarence and Naomi (Cook) Morasch. He grew up farming in Spangle, Washington, where he developed a hard work ethic that lasted the rest of his life. After graduating from Spangle High School in 1958, he joined the Navy and served four years in California. Upon returning home, he married the love of his life, Jerri Hagel, on September 22, 1962. They had three children, Merri (Earnest) Tate and Lisa Morasch, both of Spokane, and Marci (Mike) Sontgerath of Pullman. He worked at Kaiser and multiple oil companies and after retirement kept himself busy with his small engine repair hobby. He loved spending time with his family, camping, fishing, hiking, hunting, snowmobiling, and traveling. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and his brother, James Morasch. He is survived by his three children; his sister Carol Grant; his grandchildren Michael (Melissa) Tate, Steven (Heather) Tate, Katharine Tate, Amber Archambeault, Joseph Sontgerath, and Alan Sontgerath; and his great-grandchildren Finnley, Avery, Eugene, and Rosemary Tate. A viewing will be held Tuesday, February 14, 2023, from 4-8 pm at Thornhill Valley Chapel, 1400 S. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA 99206. Celebration of life will be held Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at 11 am at Zion Lutheran Church, 8304 E. Buckeye Ave., Millwood, WA 99212, with a reception to follow. Graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at 2 pm at Pines Cemetery, 1402 S. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA 99206. So sorry to hear of Allen's passing. I graduated with Jeri and Allen's and Jeri were good friends of my late husband Jerry and me. So many fond memories of the two of them.
We went to the very first treasure hunt with them at Hagels holloween party. RIP my friend. Claudia Geschke Jameson
