Brooke DOWELL Obituary
Spokane - Mother of 4, muse of many, nurse by nature.
Brooke is survived by the loves of her life and greatest accomplishment, her children, Hank (13), Willie (11), Piper (7) and Jo (6). She was tenderly cared for and loved dearly by her husband of 18 years, Jacob; as well as her parents, Kirt and Lynn Barrett; and siblings, Carly, Chelsea and Hunter.
Brooke will be most remembered for her loving, light-hearted personality. She lit up a room with her quick wit, enthusiasm for life, and sense of humor. She could make anyone laugh and smile, as such she was that treasured, kind, dear friend to many.
Brooke found her true calling professionally as a nurse working in the ICU and recovery room. She dutifully cared for many sick individuals, including herself at times in her cancer journey!
You will find Brooke amongst the beaches of Hawaii. She'll be the one in the bright orange bikini, enjoying the surf, savoring the smells, sounds, and tastes of paradise. You will hear her cheering loudly for her Cougars, baking cookies, and embracing her free spirit and creativity.
In the meantime, until we can join her, we'll miss her. She fought her way through an intense, cruel cancer battle, never giving up, and showing such great determination. It's one of her most admirable qualities: her grit and courage!
We express gratitude for the Spokane community - friends, neighbors, teammates, students, co-workers, and medical professionals - for caring for the Dowell family over the last year.
