Buddy MORRISON Obituary

Buddy L. Morrison, age 83, passed away on October 10, 2022 in Spokane after a long battle with cancer. He was the son of Bob and Martha Morrison-Peabody of Ekalaka, MT. His parents and siblings, LaVerne and Leland Morrison and, George and Frank Peabody, preceded him in death.

Bud leaves wife Dorothy, and children Jim (Teri) Morrison of Spokane, Jackie (Bob) Price of Anchorage, and Jerri (Dan) Thomas of Houston; grandchildren Tye (Pia) Morrison, Ross Morrison, Nicholas Price, Benjamin Price, and Sarah Thomas. He also leaves sister Charlotte (Tony) Zinne, uncle Veldon "Spud" Dillon, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Bud will always be remembered for his witty sense of humor, kind and considerate heart, and will be greatly missed by his family, and many, many friends and neighbors. Bud was very thoughtful and compassionate towards others less fortunate. He was a talented tradesman, helping neighbors and those in need throughout his life.

Bud was born and raised in Ekalaka, Montana. He was an avid hunter from a young age and used these skills to help provide for elders in the community. He was also quite the prankster using his quick wit to entertain the community in many ways including hoisting a team of horses and wagon onto the roof of the local post office, and placing the principal's Volkswagen Beetle onto the steps of the high school blocking its entrance knowing full well that Bob Peabody, the County Sheriff and Bud's stepfather, would pull Bud and friends from school to restore order.

He moved to Spokane to work with an uncle in the heating industry in 1959. He met his wife Dorothy and asked her on a date when he returned to her family's house to retrieve a tool that was "accidently" left there. Bud and Dorothy just celebrated their 62nd anniversary in September.

In 1969, Bud started a successful plumbing business in Spokane, and later expanded the business to Idaho, Montana, Alaska, and western Washington. Bud's work ethic was exceptional and he held two or three jobs at times to make ends meet. Bud was also a man of integrity and honesty and instilled these values in his children and grandchildren. Bud was a charitable man, never wanting acknowledgment for his willingness to help others. He did things simply because it was the right thing to do. In lieu of flowers consider donating to Spokane Ronald McDonald House, Spokane Shriners, or a charity of your choice.

Please join the family for a celebration of Bud's life at 11:30 followed by a reception and hors d'oeuvres. Wandermere Golf Course October 22, 2022.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the many care providers over the years and a special thanks to the staff at Multi Care/Deaconess and, Dr. Brad Nelson, Spokane Urology for the excellent care given to Bud.

Been years since I have seen Buddy, but am always saddened when another of the Dillon clan passes on! They were always a part of my life growing up just as they were a major part of my dad's. Last I saw & visited with the family was while they were in Ekalaka visiting Aunt Pat--my next door neighbor. Prayers & condolences to all!

Buddy and I went all through school in Ekalaka and we were the best of buddies. I am so sorry to hear about his passing.
