Carl EDWARDS Obituary

Carl Edwards passed away on January 23, 2022, in Colbert, WA. Carl was born to Norman and Lettie Edwards in Dover, NJ on May 4, 1935. He got his early education in Dover and spent the next few years working as a truck driver, a machinist, a welder, and a mechanic. Carl was born to be a mechanic and spent his lifetime working in the heavy equipment construction field. There was not a mechanical challenge he could not master and he found great satisfaction in diagnosing a problem and solving it. He was highly respected for his knowledge and expertise as a mechanic. He retired from twenty-five years working for Cascade Cable Constructors in Spokane after traveling the west with power line construction. Carl was always ready to lend a hand to friends, neighbors, or strangers who needed help.

Carl was an avid horseman who took great pleasure in providing Alyson and granddaughters Shanna and Lacey support and encouragement with their horses. Many horse show friends were the beneficiaries of his help with trucks, trailers, and random other projects.

Carl is survived by his wife, Janet, of 49 years, and children Alyson, Randy, Kim, Philip, and Sherry. He had thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers, Ken, Norman, Elwood, Bruce, and Ron.

Please consider a donation in memory of Carl to the Union Gospel Mission or Salvation Army. No service is planned at this time.

Carl,
I say this from the bottom of my heart, you are the most memorable person in our entire life. We are so blessed to have grown up with you just a short walk down the road. Dad would always tell us that if we needed our car fixed "just head down to Carl's, no need to call ahead he will take care of it for ya", or "if you cant find me its because I'm in the shop with carl". He loved and respected you more than anyone. My kids will forever remember you as the cool old guy with the missing finger, haha!
Thank you for all the wisdom, love, and skyway café breakfast dates! You have a place in our hearts forever.
We LOVE you Carl.

My sincere condolences to you Janet and your family on the death of one remarkable man. I will never forget the final words Carl said to me when Bruce and I left to go home after our trip a few years ago. He said; "I love you sis. Take care of brother Bruce and don´t be a stranger".
Give Bruce and Mike a hug and kiss from me. Love you Brother Carl. RIP...
