Charles PORTER Obituary

Charles Richard (Chuck) Porter was born October 28, 1936 in Spokane to Kenneth and Mary Porter. He attended Garfield Elementary and North Central High School. Later he met and married Phyllis Johannes. They raised three children, Diana, Vicki and Scott. Chuck was active in Boy Scouts and earned his Eagle Rank. His children were in scouting and Chuck became a Boy Scout leader where his son Scott and grandson Erik became an Eagle. His granddaughter Emma earned her Gold Award in Girl Scouts that made him prouder. Later he became active in the Elks Lodge here, serving in different offices. As Americanism Chairman he gave an American flag to over 300 new Eagle Scouts. He and Phyllis travelled from Alaska to Texas, a dream of his, in their travel trailer. His health turned bad but he kept busy making canes and walking sticks. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Bob and Bill Porter.

He is survived by his wife Phyllis, daughter Diana (Kevin) Williams and Vicki (Todd) Burow, son Scott (Vicki) Porter, granddaughters Emma Porter and Sasha Burow with grandson Erik Porter.
