Charles TROWBRIDGE Obituary

TROWBRIDGE, Charles Wesley March 14,1920 - January 31, 2014 (Age 93) Charlie died January 31st, 2014. He was a strong, loving man who provided a happy home to nine children. After serving his country in WWII, he came home to marry the love of his life, Kathryn (Kay) on her 26th birthday in 1948. Working hard as a truck driver (often working two jobs), his main goal was to provide for his family and ensure all of his children graduated high school. He loved watching baseball; frequently scheduling his vacations around the World Series. After retiring, he discovered that cable provided 24/7 baseball. He and Kay lived in a 5th wheel and traveled cross country, before settling down again in Spokane. He enjoyed playing his Nintendo games, surfing the web, and seeing just how many pictures one computer could hold. Charlie had a great sense of humor and wouldn't pass up an opportunity to make you smile. He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, and a son, Henry. He is survived by Kay, his wife of 65 years, four sons; Fred (Karen), Bill (Debbie), Don (Kelly), Wes (Sherry), four daughters; Kathryn (Carl) Re, Alexia Trowbridge; Mary (Paul) Tilque, Elaine (Pete) Wilson; 19 grandchildren, and 14 and counting great-grandchildren. His unconditional love and humor will be greatly missed. A visitation will be held Thursday, February 6, 2014 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm Rosary will be at 6:00pm at Hennessey Valley Funeral Home, 1315 N. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA 99206. A celebration of his long life will be held Friday, February 7, 2014 at 11:00am at Mary Queen Catholic Church, 3423 E. Carlisle, Spokane, WA 99217. Interment will be following the service at 1:00pm at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a cancer research organization of your choice.
