Claudia BLACK Obituary

Claudia Elizabeth Black (Fountaine), known to many close friends as Chad, passed away on December 19, 2021. A generous, loving spirit, Claudia was happiest when helping others. In her absence, we are all reminded to extend kindness whenever possible-the way Claudia did for so many.

Claudia was born on August 16, 1949, in Spokane, Washington. She attended Shadle Park High School and started working in the insurance industry shortly after graduation, up until retirement in 2014. Claudia was proud of her lifelong career and valued her success and numerous friendships made along the way, from clients to co-workers.

When it came to relaxing, Claudia did her best on the island of Kauai. Claudia first visited Hawaii with Don, her partner for over two decades; and made dozens of trips over the years. The couple loved bringing friends and family to Kauai for their first time and made a habit of bringing someone new each vacation.

Claudia was proud of her children, Ryan, Sean, and Carrie. She was always there to offer advice, support, and encouragement whenever needed. She was a grandmother to five and great-grandmother to two, enjoying every moment.

Claudia will be remembered for the compassion, warmth, love, and generosity she extended to so many, and her impact on all of us will never be forgotten.

Claudia is preceded in death by ??her father, Robert Fountaine; her mother, Elizabeth Fountaine; and her partner, Donald Eisinger.

She is survived by her sons, Ryan and Sean Murray; her daughter, Carrie Black; granddaughters Marissa, Megan, and Taylor; grandsons Joshua and Trystn; great-grandchildren Parker and Wyatt; her sister, Jan Cooper, and her brother, Doug Fountaine.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to Hospice of Spokane, where Claudia received the most attentive care in her final days. Memorial services are still pending at this time.

I'm going to miss all the conversations and the stories we've exchanged since Jeff Zerba, my husband and her friend and fellow Shadle High School friend introduced us. Her passing has knocked the wind out of me. I hope she and Jeff are visiting in Heaven. Joy Zerba
