Claudia GRAVES Obituary

Claudia Marie (Shattuck) Graves had her heavenly homecoming on June 28, 2024, in Spokane, WA.

Claudia was a resident of Spokane (Medical Lake) since 2004. She was born in Santa Monica, CA, to Donald and Caroline Shattuck, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband, Danny; sisters, Cindy Bogard and Sandy Thompson; and her brother-in-law, Eric Thompson. Also, stepchildren, Garrett, Dionna, and Wendy; along with grandchildren, Alec, Matthew, Abraham, and Ava; and great-grandchildren, Justin and Aaliyah.

Claudia grew up in southern California. She graduated from Bishop Montgomery High School. She worked in the aerospace industry at Hughes Aircraft and Northrop. After that, she moved to Everett and worked for Boeing for a time.

Once retired from aerospace, she and Danny moved to Spokane to start an alpaca ranch. This was a huge part of their lives. She was very crafty, and learned to spin, turning the alpaca fiber into yarn. As an avid crocheter, she earned her license to teach crocheting and had several classes filmed on YouTube. They did many craft shows together, selling her wares. After relocating to Spokane, she also worked for Weight Watchers.

She traveled back home to Redondo Beach many times, to work at the Banning Museum during Heritage Week, where school kids would come to learn about the animals and spinning.

She loved her garden and her animals so much. She also loved to preserve what they grew and was generous with all she made.
