Cor was an excellent coach and mentor. When I coached at the collegiate level I would always look for Junior College players from his Spokane CC teams. The players well well coached and I always heard interesting stories from them about Cor and how he touched their lives. Cor was giving of his time and loved to discuss soccer, young people and their development. Cor had integrity and great character. His place will be empty.

Hearing the news that we have lost Cor was truly sad. I guess God needed a soccer coach. I will never meet another man like Cor Van Der Meer. He was truly one of a kind. Coach, teacher, mentor, and most cherished a great friend. If I had one word to describe Cor Van Der Meer it would be "Class".

Thanks for all the laughs and memories.

You'll be missed my friend

Cor was an honorable man who touched everyone's lives in many ways. Our soccer community lost its elder statesman. I've lost a friend.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Cor's family at this time of sorrow.

Cor was an integral part of our soccer community here at Washington Youth Soccer. His contributions were countless. His time, and energy that he gave to the kids is priceless. Washington Youth Soccer has truely lost a friend, a collegue and a mentor for all of our communities in this state. While we will miss him greatly, his family can rest assured that we will carry his name into the history books that we honor so highly in this wonderful game of soccer.
Rest in Peace Cor.
