Dale RENFRO Obituary

RENFRO, Dale Dale Renfro lost his life January 29th, 2021, at 60 years old, in a tragic ice fishing accident. Dale lived and loved big. He held his family and friends close and had a heart that was always loving out loud. With his wife Monica, he shared his full love and life for 38 years. They have three children that he loved fiercely. With son Brett, 34, he shared a curiosity of how things work. With son Joshua, 31, he shared the love of the outdoors. With daughter Olivia, 24, he shared his love of laughter and adventure. He also loved the family dogs, most recently two wiener dogs Dudley and Willie, among many. He was great friends with his dad Gerry, always delighting in each other's company and scheming their next venture. He had an extremely special relationship with his mom, Nadine. Dale looked up to his big brother Steve and had a tender spot in his heart for his two little sisters, Nancy and Diane. He also loved his family-in-law like his own. Every family member shared many memorable moments with Dale. Dale loved everything outdoors, fishing for anything at anytime, hunt- ing, hiking, biking, ATV riding, innovating projects and spending time with family and friends on their riverfront property on the St. Joe River. Dale was instant friends with anyone and everyone's favorite person in the world. He would do anything for anyone at any time. He had deep and longtime friendships with people that were very special to him. His big bear hugs often came with a poke to the ribs and a devious smirk. His humor was one-of-a-kind, effortless, and endlessly entertaining. He was the one at formal events with chopsticks hanging from his mouth to be a walrus or candy corn to be a vampire or bold dance floor shenanigans. He hilariously strapped deer horns onto his golf cart for a work golf outing. His mom often referred to him lovingly as incorrigible with his extreme wit and hilarious ways. Each of the younger generation has many Uncle Dale stories. He shared his love of life with us all. As Jeff Foxworthy would say, he had "a glorious absence of sophistication" and everyone absolutely loved him for it. Dale graduated from Saint Maries High School in 1978. He drove a logging truck for a while and then graduated from Spokane Community College with an AA in Welding. He went back to school at the University of Idaho and graduated with a Civil Engineering degree and subsequently got his PE License. He focused his work on building large structures working at various civil engineering firms around Spokane, most recently with Garco. He was an innovative, highly intelligent, and self-reliant man. Dale lived his life to the fullest at all times. He was the best son, brother, husband, dad, uncle, nephew, family member, and friend anyone could ever ask for. His life was tragically cut short but he made the world a better place while he was here and he will be sorely missed. At this time the family has decided to wait to schedule a Memorial service. I worked with Dale at L.T.F.&C. in Moscow. He was a great member of that team. It didn't matter if he was supposed to be the supervisor of the project, if we needed another man in the ditch he was always quick to grab a shovel and jump in. We've all lost a great guy. So very sorry.

A genuine guy, should be more people in the world like him. If you needed a hand I know he would be there. Dale helped influence my daughter to the young lady she is today. He will be truely missed
