DEWITT,
David Dee
1935-2018

Died unexpectedly (at age 83), January 30, 2018 at Valley Hospital from complications of earlier Pancreatitis diagnosis. He was born January 8, 1935 (same day/year as Elvis Presley), in Nixa, Missouri.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Emajean "EJ" (Little); his daughters: Jennifer Giba Bockstruck (Jamie) and Traci Banick DeWitt (Chip); his grandchildren: Jeffrey Giba (Amy); Zachary Giba (Ashley); Jade Banick (Joe); and Bailey Banick; great- grandchildren: Logan and Brynn, and his dog Boo. Dave is also survived by his brother Bill DeWitt (Charlotte) of Concord, CA, plus cousin, nephew and nieces, as well as many Little family in-laws including Bob and Loralee (Little) Andersen of Chewelah.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Attena Kling DeWitt and his father, Jamie Leland DeWitt.
From birth in Missouri, family soon moved to Cheyenne, WY, then Richmond, CA and finally Concord, CA. At age 14, he was Honorary Mayor of Concord for one day. He attended Mt. Diablo High School, earned his Eagle Scout and three Eagle Palms.
With sports knee injuries, he was limited to National Guard. He graduated from Chico State (CA) in 1960, as a fraternity member and began working at Standard Register Company in Oakland, CA.
After marriage and two young daughters, he coached Little League Boys Baseball for several summers. He also began self-employment and EJ soon helped. In 1973, the family moved to Spokane and David was self-employed again (Key Forms and Graphix) in 1974. He was goal driven: with new members for Valley Chamber of Commerce, and Good Sam RV Club (over 100 for Life Membership): his chapter, Get Alongs sponsored 12 Dogs for Deaf, by recycling aluminum cans, etc; starting two new Good Sam Chapters; as President of the Senior Center during Valley Incorporation and the move to the new location: awarded Senior of the Month March 2004; and a two term (four years) as WA State Director of Good Sams. He loved sports (should have been a Statistician!), the outdoors (camping, RV travel and National Parks).
He was cremated and family interment at Pines Mausoleum. Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, February 25th, Open House 2-5pm at Arbor Grove Clubhouse, 18926 Mission (East of Barker). Memorials in his name appreciated by: Dogs for the Deaf/Dogs for Better Lives, 10175 Wheeler Rd., Central Point, OR 97502.
We never got to say Good Bye.....RIP Dave, Dee, Daddy, Grampa,
Great-Grampa. We'll cherish you forever in our hearts!

A true and good person. A helpful, giving and caring family man and gentleman. Best of friends forever in life and whatever the afterlife presents. His passing is too sad for me to express.
