He was a people person who treasured his family and friends and will be deeply missed by all of those who knew and loved him.

David married Terri Miller on February 11, 1984, in Spokane, Washington. They lived in the Spokane, WA area; New Jersey; and California. His hobbies included bicycling and running, along with traveling with his family. David and Terri traveled to Europe and Latin America throughout their marriage, with Ireland and Italy being his favorites. Many trips included their children and Terri's mother, Karen Miller.

David is survived by Terri; and their children, Meagan West (husband Brendan), Spencer West (girlfriend Tristin), and Connor West (wife Chelsey), in addition to his daughter, Amy Hertzog (husband Paul).
