Dolores PROFF Obituary

July 10, 1932 - September 10, 2025

Boise - Dolores Jean "Dee" Proff passed on to Heavenly glory on September 10th, in Boise, ID. She lived a remarkable life of service and devotion to community, country, faith, and family. Born in Wenatchee, WA, and raised in Pateros, WA, she graduated from Pateros H.S. in 1950. Dee attended WSC (WSU), where she met Vern Proff. They married in October 1952, and a month later, Vern reported to Ft Lewis. After two years, they traveled back to the Pacific NW and eventually settled in the Spokane Valley. Dee continued her education at Whitworth College and received a BA Educ. She taught 30 years in East Valley, most at Otis Orchards Elementary. They both retired in 1989 and began volunteer work on M.M.A.P's projects around the U.S. for next 20 years. Dee and Vern were married 69 years. She was preceded in death by Vern; her parents, Olaf and Elva Olson; brother, Raymond Olson; and great-grandson, Jonah Langley. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law – David and Kathy Proff of Meridian, ID, Allen and Paige Proff of Puyallup, WA, and Forrest Proff and Shannon Corrigan of Littleton, CO; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Dolores is buried in the Bridgeport, WA Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 PM, on October 17th, at Parkview Christian Church, 201 W. Ustick, Meridian, ID. In lieu of flowers, please donate to ABC Ministry at TheLambOrphanage.org.
