Donna FAIMAN Obituary

Donna Dean Faiman died peacefully in her sleep at her beloved home, on the Little Spokane River, in the early morning hours of September 13th, 2025, at the age of 87. She was born in Yakima, Washington, to Dean and Barbara Hayes (Koth) on August 4th, 1938. While in high school, Donna met her future spouse, Lou Faiman, an Air Force lad, at a local dance. She said that she "was glad he came back," as the first time Lou met her father, it was at the end of a shotgun for having brought her home well after curfew. Donna was with her spouse at all but one deployment during his 21 years in the military. They had six children, whom they raised with love, laughter, and a strong sense of family. Donna was a voracious reader and active in altar society and gardening clubs. She was preceded in death by her second daughter, Teresa Marie Faiman. She is survived by her husband (Lou Faiman); five children (Doug Faiman, Barb Weigand, Steve Faiman, Tina Campbell, and Tom Faiman); 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was one of two children and is survived by her loving sister, Helen Moore; and half-brother, Larry Pelletier. She was preceded in death by her half-sister, Phyllis Moore. Donna loved her spouse, singing along to the daily playing of "Let me call you Sweetheart" on the accordion, dancing, God, family, card games, gardening, and root beer floats-- not necessarily in that order. She had an intensely close relationship with her spouse of almost 69 years, which was a privilege, an honor, and a legacy to aspire to.

Donna's Funeral Mass will be at 11am, Saturday, October 4th, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church (3720 E. Colbert Rd., Colbert, WA 99005), followed by a reception for family and friends who would like to remember and share moments of joy and humor Donna brought to their lives. Her ashes will be laid to rest at 2pm, at Holy Cross Cemetery (7200 N. Wall St., Spokane, WA 99208).
