Donna HAMPTON Obituary

Donna Mae (Petersen) Hampton of Spokane Valley, Washington, went to be with her Lord on March 15, 2024.

She was born on October 15, 1934, in Spokane, Washington, and graduated from West Valley High School. Donna was married to her High School sweetheart (1954), Derald "Yogi" Hampton for 60 years.

She was preceded in death by husband, Derald "Yogi" Hampton; parents, Gordon and Dagmar Petersen; brother, Jim Petersen; father-in-law, Joe Hampton; and mother-in-law, Ruby Hampton.

Donna is survived by a daughter, Debra Pegram (Walt); and son, Douglas Hampton (Lisa); grandchildren include, Shauna Swanson (Bill), Matthew Pegram (Jessica), Amanda Adachi (Josh), Krista Dickson (Mike), Megan Melnychuk (Jacob) and Mackenna Gomez (Benjamin); great-grandchildren, Noah Swanson, Micah Swanson, Isabella Swanson, Addison Pegram, McKenzie Pegram, Olivia Adachi, Chloe Adachi, James Adachi, Sophia Adachi, Londyn Dickson, Mavrick Dickson, Kamryn Dickson, Ireland Melnychuk, Finnegan Melnychuk, and Caleb Gomez; sisters, Janet Purdy, Marilyn Jay; sister-in-law, Patti Petersen; also many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Donna loved to laugh. Her favorite travels took her to the Oregon Coast, Canada, Priest Lake, and spending time with family on Harbor Island in Post Falls, Idaho. Donna loved working in her yard, and beautiful flower garden, making Christmas cookies for her family and friends, and enjoying game days with friends.

She worked at Seattle First National Bank for 10 years in Millwood and before retiring at First Assembly of God, Spokane in the Business Office for 15 years. She was a longtime member of Spokane First Assembly where for many years she sang in the Singing Christmas Tree. She and Yogi later attended Spokane Valley Assembly and led in the Senior Ministry.

The Memorial Service will be held at Valley Assembly of God, 15618 E. Broadway Ave., Spokane Valley, WA, on Friday, April 12, 2024, at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Union Gospel Mission in Donna's name.

I was the ring bearer in Donna & Yogi's wedding, they were close friends with my brother Richard and wife Bev. I painted two of their houses later on in life. They were both an inspiration to me growing up, I will always remember them as wonderful peole. Gregg Douglas [email protected]
