Donna SCHUERMAN Obituary

January 9, 1931 - March 10, 2025

Donna Schuerman was born in Seattle, WA, to Clarence and Dorothy McMillan. She grew up alongside her beloved sister, Claire Wood, who preceded her in passing in 2018. While attending Gonzaga University, Donna met the love of her life, Mark Schuerman, and they married in 1949, sharing 69 wonderful years together. They built a beautiful life, raising four children, Greg (Becky), Rhonda, Pamela, and Beth. She was also a proud grandmother to three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Donna and Mark's journey took them across the world, as they lived in Guam and Okinawa while working for the military. Their adventures continued in Japan and the Philippines before they eventually settled in Spokane Valley in 1988. As avid travelers they explored 33 countries with their family, creating cherished memories along the way. After Mark's passing in 2019, Donna relocated to Scottsdale, AZ, where she continued to embrace life with enthusiasm. She loved bringing family together for destination vacations, ensuring that love and adventure remained at the hearts of their lives. Donna never shied away from new experiences or a reason for a party. Every journey was an opportunity, and every adventure was an invitation. Reflecting on her life she wrote, "My life was blessed with love, family, friends, exotic countries and adventures. With faith in God, love and hope, we'll all be together in heaven for eternity."

A Mass in her honor will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 304 S. Adams Rd., on Friday, March 28, at 11am.

My most sincere condolences. She was the most beautiful neighbor! With Mark always bringing us produce from their own garden.

I had the honor of being Donna and Mark´s family doctor for years. They were delightful, kind, and a pleasure to care for. I enjoyed the stories of their work and travels. They always dealt with the ups and downs of maturity with tremendous grace.
