He married Janis Simmons Davey on August 8, 2008, in Sandpoint. Doug retired in 2014.  He was a member of the Sandpoint Elks Lodge and enjoyed golfing in the Monday night men's league. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, boating, and spending time at the family cabin on Bottle Bay.  He is survived by two daughters, Nicole (Grant) Ely of Liberty Lake, WA, and Gretchen (Brian) Alexander of Vancouver, WA; and six grandchildren, Ben, Trevor, Karmin, Lydia, Piper, and Lucy. He is also survived by his wife, Janis McClelland, of Sandpoint; his mother, Ellamae McClelland, of Sandpoint; one brother, Steve (Carol) McClelland of Phoenix, AZ; and two sisters, Dona (Mark) Wegner of Spokane, WA, and Kathy (Rich) Taibbi of Newburg, OR.  He was preceded in death by his father, Jim McClelland.  Memorial donations may be made to Sandpoint Elk's Youth Golf Program, 30196 Hwy. 200, Ponderay, ID 83852.  Lakeview Funeral Home, in Sandpoint, is handling the arrangements. To Steve, Dona, Kathy, Ellamae and all the McClelland family we express our heartfelt condolences. The Berry kids remember a few trips with mom and dad to your Sandpoint cabin. What a wonderful spot! I am sure Doug loved living in Sandpoint. It is one of my favorite places. The McClellands have a strong sense of family. Doug will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
