Duane Kevin "Dewey" TOMSON

1956 - 2019

TOMSON, Duane Kevin "Dewey" (Age 62) Duane K. "Dewey" Tomson passed away January 18, 2019 in Nine Mile Falls, WA. We lost our husband, dad, Bumpa and friend unexpectedly and too soon. He was born on October 2, 1956 in Spokane to Charles and Martha Tomson. Dewey graduated from Shadle Park High School in 1975 and married the love of his life, Kim Nevdahl, on March 10, 1979. The two met while working at Nordstrom where Dewey was a women's shoe buyer (his favorite job and he loved to tell their story). He loved hockey, softball, pool, John Deere, and working with tools, especially power tools. He loved his German Shepherds. Dewey took pride in building their log home. He loved being a Bumpa to his grandkids. Dewey suffered from MS for more than 30 years; he would always say, "I have MS but MS doesn't have me". Regardless, he always had a larger than life personality, he loved making people happy and welcomed. We love and miss you so much. Rest easy and don't give God too hard of a time. Dewey is survived by his wife, Kim Tomson; daughter, Jessica (Tim) Eickstadt; son, Justin (Angi) Tomson; grandchildren, Ethan, Faith, Mason, Vanessa and Natasha; sisters, Char Thomas, Teresa (Brett) Johnson and Jackie Tomson; brother, David (Caroline) Tomson; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Greg Tomson. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 25th at 3:00PM at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 9706 N. Division St., Spokane, WA 99218.
