Edwin Watt Obituary

June 2, 1934 - December 28, 2015 Edwin (Ed) Jackson Watt Sr. passed away peacefully on December 28, 2015 at his home in Chattaroy, WA. after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 81. Ed was born in Sagle, Idaho on June 2, 1934. He was the third child and only son of Charles L. and Rose R. Watt. He graduated from North Central High School in Spokane, WA. in 1954. Ed was always an extremely hard worker. He started delivering newspapers when he was young to help support his family. After graduating from high school, he worked at various odd jobs. He worked in the pot rooms at Kaiser Aluminum, he was a switch-man for the Great Northern Railroad and he even spent some time on a crew building dams. It was this adventurous spirit that led him to become a firefighter for the City of Spokane from which he eventually retired. Ed was also a successful businessman, owning and operating several businesses including Spokane Fence, Watts Auto and Watt Construction. Ed was blessed with four children. He had a daughter and two sons from his first marriage to Shirley A Hetrick and a son from his second marriage to Barbra Wahl. In or around 1967, he built a home on the Little Spokane River in Chattaroy, WA. where he would live out the remainder of his life. In recent years, Ed developed a strong loving relationship with two dachshunds, Scrappy and Sassy, often referring to them as "the kids". Ed Watt will always be remembered as a loving, generous man, always willing to help anyone in need. He was a major presence in the lives of many people and he will be missed beyond what mere words can express. Ed was preceded in death by his mother, Rose Watt, his father, Charles Watt and his sister Laura Kowzan. He is survived by his wife, Carole G Watt, his sister Delores (Babe) Zupan, his children and their spouses, Jackwin Garrett (Gordon), Edwin Watt Jr. (Shuree), Shirlwin Watt (former wife Bonnie), Jamie Wahl (Donna), 15 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. We would like to give special thanks for the exceptional care provided by the staffs at Visiting Nurses and Horizon Hospice without whom we would have been completely lost. We would also like to give special thanks to Tony Wagner, a dear friend of Ed's who called to talk to him, faithfully, every day, even when it became nearly impossible to do so. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 16 at 2:30 pm at the Deer Park Seventh Day Adventist Church 809 S. Colville Rd., Deer Park, WA. A reception will immediately follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Lauer Funeral Home N. 204 Main, Deer Park, WA. 99006, (509)276-7000.

You are now in Heaven and an Angel .No more pain no more worries. You now have your Angel Wings soar high as you did on earth. You will be missed . But the memories I still have of a person that loved to talk and laugh and a good person you were. Rest In Peace Ed.
