Elinor BENSHOOF Obituary

Nampa - Elinor Lucille Benshoof, a soul of unwavering faith, went to be with her Lord on April 28, 2024. She was born September 17, 1935, in Lewiston, Idaho, to James and Laura Townsend, the oldest of four daughters. A month after graduating from Clarkston Washington High School in June 1953, she married Ronald Benjamin. The newlyweds headed to California to Bible school that fall. Three children were added to the union before the couple divorced in 1960. After her divorce, Elinor attended nursing school and received her LPN degree. In 1969, she met and married Cavil Benshoof. They had one son. Elinor had many loves, including traveling, camping, reading, and making greeting cards for family and friends. She and Cavil were active in Spokane Valley Nazarene Church for many years. Family was precious to Elinor and she leaves behind a rich legacy because of her personal walk with her Savior. A great cloud of witnesses welcomed Elinor to heaven including her beloved husband of 52 years, her parents and sisters, and a son, Edwin Benjamin. She is survived by her sons, Doug (Lynda) Benjamin and John (Trishia) Benshoof; her daughter, Karen (Dan) Tweedy; and her daughter-in-law, Tena Benjamin; 12 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 18, at 1:00 pm at Good News Community Church, 1203 7th Street North, Nampa, Idaho.
