Eric FRANSON Obituary
Covington - Eric Herbert Franson was born November 21, 1969, in Spokane, WA to Herbert Franson and Carol Franson to join siblings Jeff, Gail and Greg. He grew up on Coulee Hite Road and attended school in Reardan through High school. Then off to Spokane Falls Community College to begin, then WSU to get his BS in Mechanical Engineering. After a brief stint in Spokane, he joined his brother, Jeff, to work at then Mikron Industries in Kent, WA, and soon met his wife, Alicia Fairbairn, while country western dancing.
They married in 1996, at Highlands Community Church, in Renton, WA, and moved to Covington, WA, with all the animals. Veronica was born February 2000, then George came October 2001. Team Franson complete, we enjoyed vacations to Hawaii, Yellowstone and many camping trips. Eric's job change to Omax in 2012, caused only a slight change, but wonderful new friends. A church change a few years later from Mountain Vineyard to Faith Church brought even more new friends. Eric enjoyed being involved in kid's ministry as being a dad was his most favorite thing in the world.
In September 2023, Eric had his first stroke and was diagnosed with cancer. The cancer and severe dementia took his life one year later, in the comfort of his home, to be with his Lord. There will never be another like him.
A celebration of life event is scheduled November 23rd, 2024, at 1-3pm, at Faith Church, in Kent, WA. Donations can be made in Eric's memory to Seattle's Union Gospel Mission or Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center

I met Eric in church when we sat near each other and then noticed that we both were wearing military coats. Mine was a WWII pea coat and Eric's was a Russian officers dress coat. We connected with over a conversation shared about our coats and then had our photo taken together. The short time we knew each other was memorable and a blessing to me. Godspeed Eric.

When I saw Eric's picture from the Obituary it was exactly the picture that I had in my mind from many years ago. My recollection is he was the one that came to town in Spokane to play in the famous "B Basketball Tournament" and that he was a very good player. I think we even went to watch him play a game at the Arena when I was in high school.

I will remember Eric as he was at his mother's gravesite gathering. He was handsome, outgoing, and so friendly. He looked at me and said "You have blue eyes". I guess I am an anomaly; we laughed and visited about families. That is how I will remember him.
