Read MoreI met Eric in church when we sat near each other and then noticed that we both were wearing military coats. Mine was a WWII pea coat and Eric's was a Russian officers dress coat. We connected with over a conversation shared about our coats and then had our photo taken together. The short time we knew each other was memorable and a blessing to me. Godspeed Eric.

When I saw Eric's picture from the Obituary it was exactly the picture that I had in my mind from many years ago. My recollection is he was the one that came to town in Spokane to play in the famous "B Basketball Tournament" and that he was a very good player. I think we even went to watch him play a game at the Arena when I was in high school.

I will remember Eric as he was at his mother's gravesite gathering. He was handsome, outgoing, and so friendly. He looked at me and said "You have blue eyes". I guess I am an anomaly; we laughed and visited about families. That is how I will remember him.
