Ernie love being around horses, riding his Honda Goldwing motorcycle, Trap Shooting in Chewelah, Colville, Trail BC and Metaline Falls, driving school bus and fishing. He rode in the Spokane Lilac Parades, announced the Melody Riders shows in Chewelah, WA. He also drove school bus and was the instructor for Chewelah School Dist. #36 until his retirement. He purchased and ran The Valley Tavern in Valley, WA for a few years until selling and purchasing a home and ran a fishing and tackle shop on Waitts Lake, WA. After retiring, Ernie ran a Cob Shop, fixing old leather boots and leather items. He also retired out of The USS Navy after serving 23 years.

Ernie was a strong believer in going to church every Sunday. He attended Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Clarkston, WA. When his eyesight got too bad to drive, he would ride a scooter to church. At the very end either Pillarr or a church member would take him to church. I know he will be greatly missed by everyone that he has encountered with.
