Gail BILLESBACH Obituary

May 12th, 1946- July 1st, 2024

Gail passed away on July 1st, at home in Spokane, after a long and brave battle with congestive heart failure.

Husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he is greatly missed.

Gail was born, along with his twin brother, Gary (deceased), to Rose and Gail Vincent Billesbach.

During his Gonzaga Prep years, he met Lynn Woeppel (Marycliff), and they were eventually married in 1969. That same year, Gail graduated from EWU with his degree in social work. Gail served in the Coast Guard Reserve during the Vietnam years.

Gail had a genuine love of the meat business, working as a salesman for Hathaway Meats and ending this career with Angus Meats. From 1999 through 2004, Gail and Lynn owned and operated the Pickle Barrel Restaurant in the Northtown Mall.

Gail was a good listener, but a better storyteller. Ranging from his days at Gonzaga Prep to his love of playing handball at the Elks and The Eagles. Although he endured hand, knee and ankle injuries, it was still his favorite sport.

Gail is survived by his wife, Lynn, of 55 years, and their three children: Mark (Heidi) Billesbach, Heidi (Brian) Strobel, and Brian (Jennifer Stallings) Billesbach. He also leaves behind beloved grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, Daniel, Ashley, her daughter, Ivory, and Hailey Billesbach, Karly and Emma Strobel, Brandon Billesbach, Cooper, and Lily Stallings.

There will be a celebration of life held for the family on Sunday, July 14th.

His love for the Lord and the acceptance of his condition, carried him strong through the end.

What a wonderful life, Gail. Love, Lynn. ?

Gail, I am going to miss our phone calls, talking about our aches and pains. Our check ups on each other and how things are going with family and weather issues. You and. Lynn never made it down to Yuma, for a visit. We talked about some old memories......the fish pond in your backyard, when you and Gary were growing up. Dear sweet cousin, You were loved and will be missed ! Now you can go to your hand ball tournament´s and not have any pain !

My brother-in- law, Gail and his twin brother Garry, when they were in youngins, would take Lynn and I motorcycle riding back in the hills north of Spokane. Garry was an excellent driver, we never hit a tree, as we all said back then..."We had a blast"! Enclosed is a photo of Gail and my sister Lynn at a family wedding.
