George GORE Obituary

GORE, George F. and Jewel

Both passed away unexpectedly at their Spokane home in early May. Jewel passed away on May 2, 2012 and George passed on May 5, 2012. Jewel graduated from Edison School of Nursing of Seattle in 1954, and worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for many years. George joined the Navy after high school and was a Merchant Marine at the end of WWII. They married in 1956 and together began to raise their family. George was a proud member of his local union #1699, working as a Millwright, repairing large machinery, and engines before retiring in 1985. Jewel enjoyed writing poetry, singing, sewing, and handcrafts, while George enjoyed fishing, reading, news programs, and was a Biblical scholar. Both were members of Mt. Spokane Church. George and Jewel are survived by their son, Stephen Gore of Newport, WA; daughter, Rhoda Manz of Spokane Valley, WA; son, Jonathon Gore of Spokane; Samuel Gore also of Spokane; grandchildren, Cody Gore, Alyssa Wren both of the Seattle area, and Andrew Gore who is currently serving in the US Army; and two great grandchildren. Nephews, Mike Cosentino and David Cosentini of Spokane Valley, also survive Jewel. George also leaves behind his brother, Perry Gore of French Settlement, LA; sisters, Elva Mae Braud, Verna Kindig, and Lois Gore all of Gonzales, LA. A memorial service will be held beginning at 10:00AM on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Mt. Spokane Church in Mead. RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY 4305 N. DIVISION SPOKANE, WA assisted the family.
