I think about him all the time and always wondered how he was doing, so I looked him up and, well... I just laid in my bed and cried. He was such an inspiration to me and my siblings who had the pleasure of having him as our 4th grade teacher at Brentwood. His love of science and nature made him a favorite among the teachers there. I am deeply saddened by this news and will miss him dearly.

"Mr. Linahan" as I knew him in 1973-74 as my teacher, was one of my favorite teachers. It was wonderful as well that my family and I also lived in Fairwood. His kindness to me, and everyone had a profound effect on me. I visited him when biking or walking by, usually he was working in the garden. He always had something nice to say and was interested in how I was and how my family was doing. In 2016 when my father passed, he wrote a condolence note specifically to me. I was so touched.
I just heard today that he passed. I am sad that I did not have one more conversation with him to hear how he was doing. I am happy to hear that he continued with his travels and hobbies.

My condolences to you and your family, for the loss of a good man. It has to be nice to know that he left us with so many positive memories.

Both my older brother and sister had the honor of being taught by Mr. Linahan at Brentwood Elementary. I unfortunately wasn´t able to be in one of his classes before he retired, but was able to experience his wonderful teaching when he would substitute teach from time to time. He would frequently come into Rosauers when I was working there and always had a kind word of encouragement or story to share. He will be missed.

Dear Linahan Family,
Jerry was my master teacher at the newly-opened Brentwood Elementary in1969. He was one of the kindest, most generous, affable people I've ever met. He absolutely loved his students and dedicated his life to them every day he was in the classroom. I will be forever grateful not only for his friendship, but also the lessons he taught me and the wisdom he imparted.
My thoughts are with you as you grieve his loss. My hope is that fond memories will sustain you as you adjust to life without him.
Sincerely,
Paddy Inman
