Gordon Troyer Obituary

August 3, 1934 - September 6, 2015 TROYER, Gordon "Gordy" Kent was born to George Kenneth Troyer and Bessie Troyer on August 3, 1934 in Spokane, WA. Gordy spent his working years as a mechanic and devoted his career to his beloved Volkswagen shop (The Buggy Shop). In his spare time, Gordy enjoyed scuba diving, hunting, riding his Goldwing motorcycle, mowing the yard, waiting for the mail and beating his family in a competitive game of Bump. In 1999, Gordy sold the Buggy shop and focused his energy on caring for his son, Randall "Randy" Troyer who was diagnosed with ALS. Gordy is preceded in death by his parents, his youngest son: Randy Troyer and his daughter-in-law Teresa Ann Troyer. Gordy is survived by his wife of 54 years: Valdene "Val" Troyer, his two siblings: Stanley Troyer (Verna) and Reba Vosecky, his two sons: Richard Troyer (Lori) and Russell "Russ" Troyer (Carol), his 6 beautiful granddaughters; his 3 great-grandchildren. On September 6, 2015, Gordon took his last ride, which ended him at the gates of Heaven. The Troyer family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the medical staff at the Hospice House of Spokane for their outpouring love, support and guidance. A celebration of Gordon's life is postponed until the Spring of 2016. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alzheimer's Research Foundation or another charity of your choice.

I knew Gordy years ago, when we all went to Grant grade school in Spokane. My prayers to his family, and sister Reba.
