Gregory OSTER Obituary

Gregory Ray Oster, 72, of Spokane, WA, peacefully passed away on February 3, 2024 surrounded by his loved ones.

Greg was born on December 9, 1951, to Frances and Harold Oster in Renton, WA. In 1956, his family moved to Coeur d'Alene, ID. As the oldest brother in his family, Greg found joy caring for his younger siblings.

In his younger years, Greg worked at Playland Pier in Coeur d'Alene. He later went on to live in California and Washington, making his home in Spokane, WA, in 2009.

Greg worked in many fields throughout his life, including manufacturing jobs and cooking. For many years, he was the maintenance man at Oakcrest Mobile Home Park. He later worked at Sacred Heart Medical Center, where he retired in 2015.

In 2007, he met the love of his life, Debbie Childs. They married in 2011. Greg adored his wife and made sure to tell her every day.

Greg was happiest when surrounded by his family and secretly slipping his grandkids dollar bills. He also enjoyed creating charcoal sketches, watching the Seahawks, listening to ABBA, taking walks and collecting anything with dragons.

Greg was predeceased by his parents, Frances and Harold Oster; his siblings, Gerry Johnson, Dennis Oster, Kenneth Oster; and nephew, Steven Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Childs; sister, Michelle Oster; brother-in-law, Rick Johnson; step-children, Shelly Childs, Dawn Wilson, Brian Childs and Stephanie May; niece, Shaunta Green; and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Cancer Care Northwest. A celebration of life will be held in the spring.

"Tonight's a night we borrow,

Let's make it a memory, a night of our own." - ABBA
