Helen VINCENT Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Helen Vincent, a beloved mother, grandmother and friend, who went to be with the Lord on April 13, 2025.
Helen was born on November 4, 1950, in Astoria, Oregon, to Anthony and Louise Naimo. Together with her two brothers, Al and Gary, the family moved to California, where Helen attended Hollywood High School. Not long after high school, she met and fell in love with Rod Vincent, and the two began a grand adventure. Together, they created a beautiful family including Troy Vincent, Tanya Vincent, Daniel Vincent, and Chad Vincent, and a later-adopted daughter, Samantha Lund. They spent much of their life raising their children in Kettle Falls, WA. In 2000, while working for the BNSF Railway, Helen met and fell in love with Bob Shollenberger. With Bob, she not only gained a loving husband, but his children became her children, and she loved them all.
Helen walked through life with a soft halo of love permeating from her being. Her world revolved around her family, and she adored her children and grandchildren. Her love for them was boundless and she delighted in watching them grow, always offering support, kindness and affection. She leaves behind memories with her family that will be treasured forever, including plenty of hours on the floor playing games with her grandchildren. Her life was a testament to love, and you could find her wearing pink jewelry, surrounding herself with hearts and signing her name preceded by xoxos. In 1998, she co-authored and published two novels with her best friend, Patricia Myers, entitled "Relationships from the Heart" and "Ageless Hearts." To many that knew her, but were not family, she was honored with the title of "mom."
While we mourn her loss, we find comfort in knowing that she is reunited with her loved ones in heaven, embraced by those who passed before her, including her beloved husband, Bob Shollenberger; mother and father; brother, Al Naimo; daughter, Tanya Vincent; son, Daniel Vincent; and son, Chad Vincent.
Helen leaves behind a family who will forever cherish her memory, including her brother, Gary Naimo; son, Troy Vincent and wife, Cher; daughter-in-law, Blanca Vincent; stepson, Bob Shollenberger and wife, Karla; stepdaughters, Mary Shollenberger, Sherry Koehler and husband, Doug; stepsons, Peter Shollenberger, Luke Shollenberger, and Jacob Shollenberger; grandchildren, Tarren Vincent, Josh Vincent, Ty Vincent, Dominic Vincent, Brennen Vincent, Chase Vincent, Nathan Vincent, Sheridan Shollenberger, Sawyer Shollenberger, and Brooklyn Koehler; together with extended family and loving friends.
A celebration of life will be held in the courtyard at Mirabeau Park Hotel, 1100 N. Sullivan Rd., Spokane Valley, WA, on Saturday, May 31, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
Helen's love, kindness and strength will continue to guide us. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
