James GARDNER Obituary

January 25, 1932 - October 10, 2024

Jim Gardner died peacefully on October 10, 2024, at the age of 92, and is at home with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Jim was a lifelong resident of Spokane, born on January 25, 1932, to Glen and Myrene Gardner.

Jim served honorably in the United States Navy during the Korean War on the aircraft carrier USS Essex. Jim was an honest, hardworking man who for many years owned his own HVAC business, Northwest Heating and Air Conditioning. Later, he was employed as the chief engineer at Gonzaga University until he retired. Jim was an avid hunter, fisherman and for many years was heavily involved in the Big Game Council, being the president in 1978.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Sherrill, of 52 years, and his son, Dan, who was his hunting and fishing buddy. He leaves behind his daughter, Star (Jim); and grandchildren, Nathan, Alisa, Josh, Joel, Ethan, and Megan; along with family, lifelong friends, and community friends at Orchard Crest Retirement.

Jim will be greatly missed for his kind smile, his belly laughs, and gentle words. Services will be held at Christ Fellowship Baptist Church, 13620 E. Broadway Ave., Spokane Valley, WA, on November 2, 2024, at 2pm.
