James ORCUTT Obituary

Los Angeles - It is with great sorrow that we share the passing of our beloved son, James Logan Orcutt, "Lucky". James was born March 17, 1996, in Spokane, Washington, to Jim and Jodie Orcutt. Born on St. Patrick's Day the nickname Lucky was set. He graduated from Shadle Park High in 2014 and then attended the University of Washington in Seattle. James worked in the property management field. He was employed as a property manager with firms in Spokane, Seattle, and Los Angeles. He had a great passion for life, loved the holidays, playing volleyball, soccer, basketball, music, and hanging out with his friends. He loved living in SoCal. He was at the beach playing volleyball whenever he could. He developed strong relationships with teachers, counselors, neighbors, and other adults he looked up to. Those relationships stayed strong into his adulthood. He had a great smile and an infectious laugh. He was a bright shining light in our lives. His presence will be missed until the day we are reunited. James was predeceased by his grandmothers, June Scott and Bonnie Orcutt. He is survived by his father and mother, sisters, Kayla and Delaney, multiple aunts and cousins. No service is planned at this time.

Jodie and Jim, words can not express how sad I am at the news of Lucky's passing. I was very blessed to have wonderful memories with Lucky in his young school years and as he got older. He sold me shoes at Nordstrom several times. The last time we visited I saw him at Yokes and he asked me to sit down and talk with him. His bright smile is missed.

I was one of Lucky´s math teachers at Shadle, and he was also my TA for a year. He lit up a room with his smile and his energy was infectious. We had so many great conversations through the years at Shadle. I am so sorry to hear this news, I am devastated. He will be missed!

My heart is broken. Lucky was one of my art students years ago at Salk. When he worked at Nordstrom, he sold me the shoes I wore on my wedding day. Lucky was always upbeat, kind, thoughtful and respectful. I always adored him. What a terrible loss. My thoughts and prayers go to Lucky´s family and friends. He was truly a wonderful young man.

Lucky was a 1 of 1. He was intelligent, highly driven, a natural leader, and knew how to light up a room. He had a strong personality and stuck up for his beliefs. I can't remember a dull moment spent with him. I'm forever grateful for the times that we shared on and off the court. Sending prayers to the Orcutts.
Lucky we love you man, RIP.

My brother and Lucky were on the same basketball team, and I had the privilege of watching Lucky play ball from the time we all were kids until adolescence. His performance on the court was inspiring.
Lucky was a hard worker, highly intelligent, and his laugh and smile lit up the room. He took after his parents with his kindness, and willingness to go out of his way to help others. Lucky was never seen without a smile. Our family loved him and have absolutely no words. Rest in peace, Lucky. My prayers go out to the Orcutt family.

My heart breaks for you, Jim and Jodi.
Lucky had such a big personality! He lit up the halls at Salk. I remember his middle school self so well. His smile. His laughter. His confidence. His leadership. He had it all which not all kids do during adolescence. He truly was a blessing to all who knew him.

Lucky was a friend of my son Andrew.
I loved being around both of them. Lucky was super intelligent and a great athlete, but his personality lit up a room. He came to our lake place lots of times and was always helping us ... I love and respect his parents and I always felt like I would try and get him to work in our property management company and we could help his dad manage all the family real estate. I´m very sad and am thinking about the entire Orcutt family!
RIP Lucky.
