HEATH: A funeral service for Jean M. Priest, age 87, of Heath, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 25, at the Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service with Rev. Mark Katrick officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Priest died October 20, 2010 at Arlington Care Center. She was born June 2, 1923 in Lancaster, Ohio to the late Charles M. Kraft and Cora B. (Snyder) Craft.

Mrs. Priest was a 1941 graduate of Lancaster High School. In her early years, she enjoyed rollerskating and that is how she met her husband. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time with her family and attending get-togethers. She also enjoyed camping and crocheting, having made many beautiful afghans over the years.

She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Newark.

She is survived by a daughter, Jean A. Priest of Heath; sons, Terry J. (Sheila) Priest of Newark, and Robert A. Priest of Heath; three grandchildren, Crystal Priest (Tom Head), Amber (Dave) Rogers and Tiffany (Terry) Schulz; great-grandson, Tavious Head; and a great-granddaughter on the way; a sister, "Just Sis" McCarty of Lancaster; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Gerald G. "Red" Priest, who passed away June 19, 2002; and by two brothers, Chum Kraft and Jim Kraft; and two sisters, Betty Gall and Chuck Erick.

Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, October 24, at the funeral home, 59 North Fifth Street.
