Jeanette WILLIAMS Obituary
Airway Heights - Jeanette Sharon Williams was born August 18, 1949, as Jeanette Sharon Bell. She was born to Gertrude and Edward Bell in Ventura, CA. Jeanette grew up in Ventura and loved the ocean. She was fortunate enough to spend a lot of time at her uncle's ranch in Ojai and she loved to ride horses. One fine day a neighbor showed up to inform her uncle that their donkey "Tommy" was loose. A love story was born that day. The neighbor James "Jim" Williams walked with Jeanette to lead her to the wayward donkey and the rest was history. Jeanette married Jim and began a family. Jeanette loved being a mom, summers were spent doing every fun activity that she could think of until the dreaded "back to school" time approached. But even then, it was not unheard of for her to show up at the private school at lunchtime with her children's favorite foods. In 1988 the family moved from Ventura, CA to the area of Spokane, WA living for some years in Suncrest, Deer Park, Mead, and finally many years in Spokane Valley and then finally settling in Airway Heights. During those years Jeanette accumulated even more family. Her personality was such that she adopted into her nest a flock of honorary children and grandchildren. She loved Jesus and extended that love to everyone she met. On January 24, 2021, Jeanette lost the love of her life, her husband of 55 years. Only six weeks later her 7 yr. old granddaughter, Cevanah, succumbed to a brain tumor. Jeanette's world was never the same. She still had a zest for life and loved everyone she met, but her heart was altered by the immense loss. During her last 6 years of life, Jeanette had incurred several medical setbacks and had become wheelchair bound but she still powered through it doing all she could for her children and honorary family until she succumbed to her numerous health complications on April 18, 2024. Jeanette is survived by her children, Sharon Lake, David Williams, and Ruth Williams; her sister-in-law, Betty Jo Williams; son-in-law, William Lake; daughter-in-law, Michelle Williams; and her grandchildren, Cierra Williams and Cody Williams. She will always be remembered for her love and generosity, her hospitality, her love of Jesus Christ, and her love of family. A service will be held at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in the Spokane Valley on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 1 pm (please let the family know if you plan to attend, all are welcome).
