Joan FOWLER Obituary

April 4, 1948 - July 3, 2025

Funny girl Joan L. (McLain) Fowler took her last breath on July 3, 2025, at the loving HomeShare Health Care adult family home. She was born April 4, 1948, to Wayne and Velma McLain of Reardan, WA, both of whom have preceded her in death. She will also be joining her husband of 50 years, James T. Fowler; her son, Troy; and her siblings, Richard, Crystal, Johnny and Cindy Lou.

She is survived by her two daughters, Christie and Nico (Denny); her four granddaughters, Carly, Miya, Zar and Naleah; her three remaining siblings, Cheryl, Bill and Melody; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Joan was a fiery spirit and could get anyone to laugh at her off humor & had a laugh that made others join in. She worked 20+ years at Gonzaga University, several years at Kiemle & Hagood and even for a local radio station in the late 70s. Her love of cars had Jim and her showing their '55 Chevy at many car shows. She loved to quilt, scrapbook and most of all tole-paint. She spent most days gardening or reading. She lived with dementia the last 12 years of her life, but could remember faces and enjoyed seeing family and making people laugh.

Graveside service will be held at Fairmont Memorial, 5200 W Wellesley Ave., Spokane, WA, on Thursday, July 24, at 12:30 PM. Reception to be announced.
