Born in Lake Providence, Louisiana, he remained there with his family until he joined the Army and served in the military services during World War II. While in Spokane he met Freddie Mae Huff whom he married in 1956 in Coeur d'Alene, ID. He worked for Spokane Washington Machinery for 30 years and retired out of Local 338, Foundry Workers Union.
Joe loved playing the horses at Playfair Race Course and projects around the house. He always believed in the right way of things not the wrong, and he was always willing to help family and friends in need.
