John taught me how to play Rugby and I played many years after he moved. He was a great inspiration to me and I admired him for it. I would, again, offer my condolences to the family and let them know that he was an influence to me in my life. May he rest in peace. Bill Bartell

I met John when he started a rugby team in Youngstown, OH. J played for 8 seasons and 2-3 with John, He was the hooker and I played loose head prop. He was a great player, coach and friend. I missed him when he moved. May you rest in peace
