John WILLIAMS Obituary
John was born December 3, 1950, in Martinez, CA, the second son of the late Frederick E. and Janet F. Clarke Williams. His brother was the late Clarke E. Williams. In August 1974, John married Denise E. Skilling, they celebrated 49 wonderful years of marriage. Their children include Marissa Williams, Meghan and Keith Ross of Spokane. Grandchildren are Kendall and Kyler Ross.
John graduated from Whitworth University, Princeton Theological Seminary and received a Doctorate of Ministry from S.F. Theological Seminary. He served various churches including First Presbyterian Church, San Luis Obispo, CA; Whitworth Community Presbyterian, Spokane, WA; Congregational Presbyterian Federated Church, Lewiston, ID; and Longview Community Church, Longview, WA. Upon retirement he volunteered as a parish associate at Whitworth Church, and an assistant for the Foundations of Leadership class at Whitworth University.
John loved his family, books, cars, and a good cup of Starbucks, but most of all, he thrived in sharing the love and grace of Christ with everyone in an authentic and genuine way. Initially involved in the ministry of Young Life, a minister to many congregations over his 40 year career, generations of kids at Camp Spalding, and the heart of it was in any day to day encounter where he had the opportunity to listen, mentor or help someone who needed his gentle kindness.
The Young Life Capernaum ministry became dear to his heart as it provided a space for young people with different abilities. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, January 13, at 10:30 AM, located at Whitworth Church 312 W. Hawthorne Rd. Spokane, WA 99218. Streaming and video will be available

I knew John because of his connects to so many other friends in the same community. Friends with his daughter Meghan via various network of friends & community members. Was lucky he come into my work at Starbucks for his coffee fix! Prayers for his family during this loss.
