John WITTMAN Obituary

John Thomas Wittman, age 82, of Spokane, Washington, passed away on March 29, 2025.

Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Ralph and Marcella Wittman, John was the eldest of five siblings. He graduated from DeLaSalle High School and earned his BS from St Cloud State University, and MS from USC.

In June of 1967, John answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Air Force. He retired as a Lt Col, USAF, with 27 years combined active USAF/reserve ANGUS. He was the final Commander of the 105 Tactical Air Control Squadron and retired as the Commander of the 256 Combat Communications Squadron, Four Lakes WA.

Always the consummate servant leader, John, served on multiple community organizational boards including the Spokane Area Children's Chorus and Spokane Civic Theater.

A Celebration of John's life will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, September 27, at St. Aloysius Gonzaga Church, with reception immediately following. Those unable to attend may visit https://www.youtube.com/@stalsparish

John's interment with Military Honors will take place at 11:15am on Monday, September 29, at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake. All who knew John are welcome to attend.
